How to arrange an odd-numbered wall art set?
Sets of 3 or 5 prints need an anchor point. Learn how to balance focal sizes and spacing for a stable, naturally weighted gallery wall.

For a set of 3 or 5 prints, place the largest piece either in the center or on the far left, grouping the smaller frames to the right. Because we naturally read from left to right, an anchor on the left or center grounds the arrangement, while smaller frames offset its visual weight.

In a three-piece display, consider a symmetrical 1:2:1 ratio (for example, a 50x70 cm print flanked by two 40x50 cm frames) or an asymmetrical layout with one 70x100 cm piece on the left and two stacked 50x50 cm prints on the right. Maintain a consistent gap of 5 to 8 cm between your ayous wood frames or stretched cotton canvases.
For a five-piece arrangement, align the collective optical center at standard eye level, roughly 145 cm from the floor. When combining cotton posters framed under plexiglass with passe-partout and gallery-wrapped canvases, align their top or bottom edges within sub-groups to keep the composition cohesive.

Pre-curated gallery sets at gall.art are composed around these exact balance and scaling principles, allowing you to mount a balanced arrangement without guesswork.
